Today, a fireworks display was held in my town, just one of many held throughout the summer season in Japan. They set off about 5000 fireworks over a 90 or so minute period. Though it started after the sun went down, the temperature was still hanging around 31 degrees, and I was sweating just standing still. Next year I plan to arrive there a bit earlier and find a good viewing position as I couldn't go where I wanted to this time because of the sheer amount of people blocking the streets. At one point during the display, I got a whiff of the smoke coming from the fireworks, it brought back memories of previous displays back when I lived in England.
